Leopfe One Move Ahead in The Yarn Cleaning

Leopfe One Move Ahead in The Yarn Cleaning

Spinning - Yarn
The contamination of cotton with synthetic fibers is still a common concern for spinning mills. Especially white or transparent polypropylene fibers from bale packaging can affect the quality of the spun yarn. If the polypropylene contaminations are not removed properly during production, the spun yarn can cause costly complaints. Contamination clearing improves the yarn quality considerably. But if it is done too strictly, the production efficiency can be adversely affected and the amount of waste increases. To optimize yarn clearing even further, Loepfe developed the new adjustment tool P-Matrix for its YarnMaster ZENIT+, which increases the clearing efficiency substantially. Extensive tests in a spinning mill in India showed impressive results. Extensive tests at SLP Spinning Mil...

USTER® SENTINEL is The Key to Optimized Yarn Production

Spinning - Yarn
With real-time performance information, USTER® SENTINEL offers mills the data to raise yarn production efficiency to the next level. Even with good human eyesight capable of reaching 5,000 meters, it’s still not possible to have a total overview of end-breaks along the full extent of the frame. Only an automated system can monitor if the spindles are all operating correctly. Since normal walking pace is about 4,000 meters per hour, an operative would typically need about one minute to arrive at an end-break at the last spindle on the frame. So, the spindle could be easily back in action again within two minutes – assuming, of course, that the operative knows exactly where to go… Ring spinning optimization It’s a fact that high-performance potential and enormous ring-spinning ma

Synthetic Yarns Don’t Need Foreign Matter Detection! Or Do They?

Synthetic Yarns Don’t Need Foreign Matter Detection! Or Do They?

Spinning - Yarn
Thanks to the new OffColor detection feature of Loepfe´s YarnMaster ZENIT+ the labor-intensive and therefore expensive visual inspection of the bobbins is no longer necessary. The raw material for spinning synthetic fibers originates from well-controlled processes in chemical plants. This is why contamination with foreign matter occur very rarely. However, synthetic yarns like polyester can have different fiber qualities with different glossiness. Mixedup yarns can lead to defects in the following processes along the production chain. Today, the visual inspection of these costly errors is still very time- and labor-intensive. PT. Superbtex, Indonesia, strives for a simpler and more efficient solution to overcome this issue and has addressed Loepfe for a suitable solution. The co-operati
