Grant Support from EU to ‘Transformation to Technical Textiles in Denizli’ Project

The European Union (EU) provided a grant of 5 million Euros for the ‘Transformation to Technical Textiles in Denizli’ project.

DTO President Uğur Erdoğan hosted Turkey Home Textile Industrialists’ and Businessmen’s Association (TETSİAD) President Hasan Hüseyin Bayram and the accompanying board members. Denizli Exporters Association (DENİB) and TETSİAD Vice President İbrahim Uzunoğlu and accompanying delegation exchanged views with Erdoğan about the textile sector.

Denizli Chamber of Commerce (DTO) President Uğur Erdoğan stated that this project is a first in the history of the city, “Entrepreneurs who want will be able to work in this center and produce samples.” said.

Speaking during the visit, Uğur Erdoğan said that when Denizli is mentioned the textile and apparel industry first comes to mind. Expressing that they started the Technical Textile Transformation project in Denizli by receiving 5 million Euros of grants from EU funds, Erdogan said, “Our project is a first in Denizli history in terms of grant amount. Our center, where we have set up in one thousand square meters closed area in our Denizli Organized Industrial Zone, will be the first in terms of content and operation. Manufacturers who want to develop innovative products will be able to work in this center and produce samples. Parts of products such as planes, helicopters, drones, yachts, cars, skis and guitars will be produced.

“Our goal is to increase the business of our members”

Expressing that the fairs rank first among the biggest activities as DTO, Erdoğan said:

“Our biggest supporter in overseas fairs is the Presidency of Small and Medium Enterprises Development and Support Administration (KOSGEB). With the support of our goverment and the contribution of our chamber, we took our members to a technical examination and business trip to Germany to see the Heimtextil Fair in Frankurt for the first time in Denizli. Our goal is for our members to increase their business and contribute more to our country’s economy.”

“Creating projects is very important”

Hasan Hüseyin Bayram who congratulate Uğur Erdoğan for contributing to sector, “As TETSİAD, we also participated in Heimtextil. We have received great support from our state here. “Denizli hereinafter will become more frequent problem in Turkey”
